Set-Up is Easy

01

INSTALL TOILET SEAT

Remove your old toilet seat and install the new Bemis toilet seat. A bag of screws and toilet seat installation guide are included in your box. Also find detailed instructions in this video.

tip
Put the litter box in the bathroom for a few days, next to the toilet if you can. Some customers even raise it off the floor a little bit. Get the cat used to stepping up into the cat box. But you MUST remove the litter box when you start training with The Cat Throne.

Install the specially crafted Bemis toilet seat.

02

CAT THRONE SEAT

The Cat Throne seat will already be clipped onto your toilet seat. It can be easily lifted up and down during training and beyond.

tip
You can always remove the Cat Throne seat after training if your cat is young and agile. But please keep it. Your cat will need it when they get older. I choose to leave my Cat Throne seat on the toilet seat at all times.

Clip on Cat Throne seat using the small clips on the back of the toilet seat.

03

FIRST SOLID TRAY

Snap in the first solid tray. Fill halfway with flushable litter. While training, simply remove tray and put aside. Lift the Cat Throne seat up and use toilet as usual. Flush any poop or used clumps of kitty litter.

tip
Mix in some of your cats usual litter into the first tray. You can even add some used kitty litter 💩 so your cat understands this is where they are supposed to go to the bathroom.

Snap in the first solid tray. Use the ears to remove tray and set aside to use the toilet or scoop.

FUN FACT

Having a small step stool to make it easy and comfortable for your cat to climb up onto the toilet is key. Especially important during training and also when your cat gets older. I leave the little stool next to the toilet all the time. My cat loves the extra support. We offer a few choices in our Cat Throne shop.

04

SECOND TRAY

After you cat has mastered the solid tray, snap in the second tray with the small hole. Your cat will start to get used to the idea of a hole in the bottom of their litter box.

tip
A little litter goes a long way. Scoop out the litter that has clumped and flush it. This tofu flushable litter is safe for plumbing and septic systems.

Snap in the second tray with small hole. Fill with flushable litter. A little goes a long way.

FUN FACT

The Cat Throne system uses tofu flushable kitty litter for the training. It’s biodegradable and eco-friendly and has no harmful chemicals. Our flushable kitty litter sample is included with the The Cat Throne system. You will only need it for a few weeks. We offer larger bags for continued training or multiple cats households.

05

THIRD TRAY

Snap in the third tray with largest hole. Your cat should be getting more comfortable to the hole in the tray. Use the brush to tidy up.

tip
No system is completely mess free, and a lot depends on your cat(s), but I like to keep a hand-held vacuum close to the toilet as well as my tidy-up brush.

Snap in the third tray with largest hole. Your cat is getting used to the hole in the tray. Use the brush for kitty litter surprises.

06

JUST THE CAT THRONE

After the trays, you have moved onto just the Cat Throne seat. This is where you can decide to either keep the Cat Throne on the toilet, or remove it. Only take it off if your cat doesn’t need any extra support.

tip
You can leave the Cat Throne on the toilet and simply lift it up and down. Or remove it and put it back on later in life. Human training tip: don’t put the toilet seat lid all the way down.

Use the Cat Throne only. Lift up and down when you need to use the toilet. You made it!

07

POTTY TRAINED

Now it’s up to you and your cat to decide whether you want to remove the Cat Throne seat all-together, of keep it on for extra support.

tip
The Cat Throne seat provides extra surface area, and a non-slip texture to ensure balance and safety for your cat during training and beyond. Essential for older cats, and small cats.

Remove the Cat Throne seat if your cat is young and agile. Or keep in place if your cat needs the extra support.

FUN FACT

When cats go poop 💩 on the toilet, they need a little more support. The Cat Throne seat provides extra surface area, and a non-slip texture to ensure balance and safety for your cat during training and beyond.
